We also offer an array of educational content and inspiring wellness incentive programs, all aimed at helping your members thrive!

The following information outlines many of the programs and services the United Workers Wellness Company is ready to provide to your members as part of a comprehensive wellness program.

Health Screenings

United Workers Wellness biometric health screening services capture key health data used to identify individuals at risk for health issues such as high blood sugar, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. When left untreated, these markers can lead to diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. The goal of administering screenings is to reduce health risks, improve wellness, lessen healthcare costs, and improve workforce productivity.

A standard biometric screening measures the following:

  • Total cholesterol (T.C.), HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, a TC/HDL ratio, and Triglycerides
  • Glucose test, which measures the sugar in the blood
  • Blood pressure reading
  • Height/Weight/Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation
United Workers Wellness offers three screening options:

Onsite Biometric Screening Event:

Our Onsite Biometric Screening events offer employees a convenient and effective way to gain insight into their health. Participants receive immediate results and review the findings, onsite professional. Employees also have the option of reviewing the findings with a UWW Health Coach or Dietitian.

Voucher to a Local LabCorp Facility:

The voucher option allows participants the convenience of completing a screening test anytime, making it an ideal option for remote workers. Results are emailed, and participants have the option of consulting with a UWW Health Coach or Dietitian.

Home Testing Kits:

Home Testing Kits offer a simple and convenient way to collect valuable health data. Kits are mailed directly to the participant with prepaid return shipping, making it an excellent choice for remote workers. Results are emailed, and participants have the option of reviewing the findings with a UWW Health Coach or Dietitian.

Seasonal Flu Shot Clinic

United Workers Wellness understands the importance of bringing preventative health services to your employees. Since the seasonal flu strains change each year, it is essential to get the new vaccine annually. This is especially important for individuals with underlying health conditions. Infections tend to peak between November and March, so we provide onsite seasonal flu shot clinics for your staff in the fall.

Nutrition Counseling

Understanding the role nutrition plays in our health can feel very overwhelming and confusing. A key component of United Workers Wellness Company is our Nutritional Counseling services. Our clients have access to a Registered Dietitian who is available to support, guide, and educate participants on matters regarding their nutrition and wellness. Common nutritional topics addressed include:

  • Weight Control
  • High Blood Pressure Regulation
  • Cholesterol Management
  • Blood Sugar Regulation
  • Components of a Healthy Diet
  • Digestion Issues
  • Food Allergies
  • Disease Prevention

Our Registered Dietitian works one on one with clients in order to meet their specific needs. The nutrition counselor also provides written educational content for our monthly Wellness Newsletter and nutritional curriculums for wellness incentive programs.

The sessions include relevant educational information, resources, goal setting, and lots of support and encouragement throughout the process.

Personal Training

Support and guidance from fitness professionals gives our clients the extra wellness edge. From beginning workout routines to advanced training programs, our fitness professionals are available to provide our clients with fitness instruction, advice and endless inspiration. Our certified personal trainers are available for consultations.

Wellness Incentive Programs

One of the best ways to engage employees in taking steps to improve their health is through wellness incentive programs. United Workers Wellness has a proven track record designing and implementing wellness incentive programming which changes lives. Our challenges focus on making lifestyle changes that are sustainable over time and lead to long-term health improvements. Frequent topics include nutritional programming, focusing on the core components of creating balanced meals, fitness challenges that encourage movement, and healthy lifestyle challenges that combine all the wellness elements. Incentive programs provide participants with the structure and support they need to take control of their wellness.

Monthly Wellness Newsletter

The United Workers Wellness Team will develop and distribute a monthly wellness newsletter for your members. The publication will cover the latest information on an array of health and wellness topics such as nutrition myths, exercise tips, stress reduction, cancer awareness, delicious recipes, and so much more. The newsletter will also include upcoming programming information and wellness resources. A highlight of the newsletter is our spotlight stories, where we share a member's journey to wellness with the program.

Health Fair Support

United Workers Wellness Company has years of experience coordinating health and wellness fairs for large worksites. From collaborating with corporate vendors, connecting with local service providers, to offering onsite wellness services, the United Workers Wellness team will work with you to make your Health Fair a great success. Onsite wellness services typically include biometric screenings, flu shots, nutrition counseling, and chair massages. Our staff will coordinate an interactive and informative event your employees will remember.

Online Smoking Cessation

As part of our wellness services, we will provide an online smoking cessation curriculum developed specifically for your membership containing, information on medical interventions, steps and strategies for quitting, and additional resources such as support groups, all designed to support someone in quitting tobacco. These materials will also include smoking cessation resources specifically available through your medical plans.

Financial Benefits of UWW EAP Plus

Does investing in wellness work? Harvard researchers studied the return on investment (ROI) of employee wellness programs and concluded that, on average, for every dollar spent on employee wellness, medical costs fall $3.27 and absenteeism drops $2.73.

While there are hard savings from reducing health care costs, the additional benefits achieved by improving employees’ health, lifestyle and well-being must also be taken into consideration. Investing in your employees’ wellness keeps health care costs down, productivity high and leads to greater job satisfaction.
